Established in 1984, La Crescenta Montessori has proudly upheld a tradition of excellence in education. We adopt the Montessori Method, a time-tested approach that recognizes and nurtures the inborn curiosity to learn found in all children.
In this early intellectual period, periods emerge during which extraordinary absorption by the child occurs. These phases enhance language, order, the senses, and social structures, creating ideal opportunities to instill a lifelong love of learning. We support these critical windows of development, during which changes take place in the brain, by allowing each student to progress at their own pace so that no child is ever overwhelmed. Our aim is to instill a healthy desire for knowledge and lay the foundation for learning early in life so as to enrich the lives of our students and, through them, make the world a better place.

La Crescenta Montessori was established in 1984 by Irena Root. In 1989, Gail Amarasinghe, an experienced educator with extensive teaching experience, acquired the school. Under Ms. Amarasinghe’s leadership and the dedication of our Montessori-trained teachers, the school has grown and developed into what it is today.
We pledge to help every child unlock their full potential every day. The desire to learn burns deep in every child, and we have created a secure and stimulating environment that tickles their minds all day. By instilling an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and laying the strong foundation of learning early on, we seek to enrich the lives of our students and, through them, the world around us.
